Marvel Entertainment

Working with Marvel creatives and executives, I spearheaded the development of Marvel’s first-ever theatrical enterprise: Marvel Spotlight, a collection of original plays centered on Marvel characters for teenage performers.

Script Development

I nurture scripts through all steps of development, from pitch to publication or production.

EXAMPLE: Collaborating with award-winning playwrights Masi Asare, Christian Borle, and Karen Zacarías, I guided their work to the finish line. Providing critical editorial feedback every step of the way, I helped the writers shape their original ideas into compelling stories—about the humans behind the heroes—for the targeted teenaged demographic.

Content Strategy + Creation

I plan, develop, and manage the content output of any given project to ensure it hits the mark every time.

EXAMPLE: Collaborating with education professionals, I developed a content strategy for the creation of supplemental materials that best set up teachers and student performers for successful productions. Writing some pieces, while assigning others to educators, I edited all materials for clarity and consistency, as well as ensured they accurately represented and authentically engaged with the stories and characters.

Copyediting + Proofreading

I review content during every stage of the publication process—from initial Word docs to the final publication—to ensure accuracy and consistency of content, style, and syntax.

EXAMPLE: Working with the publisher, Samuel French, I formatted the Marvel Spotlight plays and educational content to align with their in-house style standards, while proofreading for grammar and liaising with authors on line edits and story-specific style choices.
